Episode 17: Brian Janosch - Redefining creativity in all spaces
Brian Janosch has filled all roles in the creative process, pulling from an inspiring diversity of experience and injecting humor at every turn. He brings a closeness and connection that is increasingly important in our disconnected world and there is richness in his story we can each learn from.
It was such a pleasure to have Brian Janosch on the podcast - Brian is one of those people that carries around a contagious energy and couples it with a warm personality and humor.
Brian is a creator, in every sense of the word. He has facilitated creative teams, filled roles as writer, director, editor, producer, and basically everything between along the creative path. He began his creative journey in New York, managing the writer’s room at the satirical news source, The Onion, taking the renown outlet to satirical places it had never been before. Afterward he became a managing editor at Adult Swim.
His journey creating comedy and media led him to California where he co-founded the brilliant comedy-technology company, Cultivated Wit - and just to pull out one of the highlights of that venture, they invented the ‘comedy hack day’, which I encourage everyone to check out. As if that wasn’t impressive or intriguing enough, he then became one of the foundational creative team members behind the Google Artificial Intelligence Assistant’s personality.
Now he spends his days as the Principal Designer for Communication Design at the global design company IDEO.
His journey is utterly fascinating and I’m excited to share it with each of you!
